World’s best riders to return for Longines Hong Kong International Horse Show

The Longines Hong Kong International Horse Show is coming back for a second year, with some of the world’s best riders bringing their skills to the city in January.

Alongside three days of top showjumping and the return of the popular Shetland Pony Grand National, a new dog agility display will take place at the AsiaWorld-Expo.

And with the Year of the Horse starting soon after, organiser Clarion Events Asia plans to debut the Hong Kong Jockey Club Asian Youth Challenge, allowing young showjumpers from across the region to compete in their own special competition.

Richard Ireland, Clarion Events’ CEO, Asia, said the return of the show underscored the organisation’s “vision of advancing equestrian sports in Hong Kong and [the Greater Bay Area]”.

“By working together with all our partners, we hope to inspire future generations of riders, enhance community involvement and celebrate the rich heritage of equestrian culture across the region,” he added.

As well as watching pint-sized ponies with little jockeys zip around a track and world-class riders compete in a variety of events, fans will also get to experience the more luxurious side of life, with shopping and fine dining planned for the event, which runs from January 30 to February 1.
