The Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 is official, but like a car without an engine, the chipset is useless without being put inside mobile devices like phones and tablets.
If you’re wondering what smartphones and the like will come with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, then you’ve come to the right place.
There’s already a big selection of brands confirmed to be making devices with the new processor and we already know some specific models.
The Xiaomi 17 range has, even ahead of the Snapdragon Summit, been confirmed to run on the 8 Elite Gen 5.
This consists of the Xiaomi 17, Xiaomi 17 Pro and Xiaomi 17 Pro Max. Yes, Xiaomi is skipping the 16 model number and also switching from Ultra to Pro Max for the top-of-the-range model to mirror the iPhone range.

Xiaomi
The Xiaomi 17 series will be announced imminently on 25 September, but there are two important things to note.
This is the Chinese launch and the phones are unlikely to get a global launch until March 2026. It’s also unlikely that the Xiaomi 17 Pro will be released in the UK.
Apart from Xiaomi, there are a number of Qualcomm’s partners who are confirmed to be launching devices with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5. They are:
- Honor
- iQOO
- Nubia
- OnePlus (likely the OnePlus 15)
- Oppo
- Poco
- Realme
- RedMagic
- Asus ROG
- Samsung
- Sony
- Vivo
- ZTE
Of course, we’ll keep you up to date with all these devices as and when they are announced. Until then, check out our benchmarks with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5.
