West Ham are in desperate need of attacking reinforcements this summer.
Despite the fact that there are still 29 games to be played, West Ham are looking like one of the favourites to be relegated from the Premier League.
As for the reasons behind that, West Ham’s defensive struggles are certainly at the top of the list, having conceded 20 goals already this season.
However, offensively, the Irons haven’t been much better, and that could change if they revisit a transfer deal from 2023.

Dominic Solanke’s future at Tottenham is looking bleak
West Ham were linked with Dominic Solanke in 2023, before the Englishman made the move to Tottenham.
However, since then, things haven’t quite gone as planned for Solanke, who has struggled for form and for fitness under several managers.
The 28-year-old has scored 16 goals from 48 appearances for Spurs, but has featured just twice for them this season as a result of an injury picked up in August.
However, prior to that, Thomas Frank opted to utilise him from the bench in both of his league appearances, suggesting that he isn’t overly fond of his frontman.
Before his move to North London, Tony Cascarino praised the Englishman for his “terrific season” with Bournemouth, where he scored 21 goals and registered four assists.
If the door opens for a move, it would be a no-brainer for West Ham to consider, given their struggles in front of goal.
West Ham’s offensive numbers are worrying
Not only have West Ham conceded the most this season, but they have also scored the second fewest, just two goals above Nottingham Forest.
Nuno Espirito Santo’s side have recorded an xG of just 7.7 this season, which is the third worst in the league, above Burnley and Aston Villa.
The Hammers have notched on seven occasions in nine games, with three of those coming in West Ham’s 3-0 win over Nottingham Forest earlier in the season.
It is evidently something that needs to be addressed in the winter, not just by the arrival of a striker, but also someone who can supply for him.
