Weah’s agent: One Juventus director ‘is creating problems’

Badou Sambague, agent of Timothy Weah, accuses one Juventus director of ‘creating problems’ as the American winger’s move to Marseille stalls.

Weah has already agreed to personal terms with Marseille, but Juventus are yet to accept an offer from the French club, coached by the Italian Roberto De Zerbi.

Weah is not part of Juventus’ plans and the Old Lady had already tried to sell the USMNT international to Nottingham Forest in June, but the winger refused to join the Premier League club.

“Juventus are a fantastic club, the sporting department is managed by three people who have class. We won’t hold against them, but two are looking for solutions and one is creating problems, and we cannot let that go,” Weah’s agent told RMC Sport.

“Tim Weah is always professional, but was sidelined during the Club World Cup. This person botched the World Cup by trying to force him to go where he wanted. Today, out of spite, he is demanding a fortune and is waiting for a Premier League offer that will never come, and we’ll never approve.”

Weah was not involved in the Club World Cup games against Manchester City and Real Madrid after refusing to join Forest.

His agent had already criticised the Bianconeri back then, saying that they would not force his client to join a club he didn’t want to play for.

This time around, he targeted just one director, without naming him.

“These old-fashioned methods won’t work with me. I’m not accustomed to speaking out, but staying silent today would mean accepting the unacceptable and a total lack of respect,” he concluded.

“Class can’t be bought, at least not for an executive, but it’s always been part of Juventus. One person is undermining, so let’s see.”

Weah joined Juventus from Lille in 2023 and has scored seven goals in 78 appearances with the Old Lady.
