Tusker FC striker Ryan Ogam has expressed his disappointment that he couldn’t reach the mark of scoring 30 goals in the current Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Premier League season which has one match left to conclude.

The youngster started off the season on a blistering form managing to take control of the scorers chart and after reaching 15 goals at the halfway stage, he suffered an injury which put him out of action for several months.

“At the start of the season, I had set a target of scoring 30 goals but then it was cut short. It was really difficult for me. I was watching all our games, and it was really painful to see that you could do something for the team to get wins and points but then it is impossible,” Ogam said as quoted by MozartSports.

“It has really been difficult from when I heard the news that I would require surgery and I will be out for 9-10 weeks. I did not think it would have been this difficult, especially after surgery. As a player, you always want to be on the pitch playing and when you see others doing that and you are outside, it is very difficult.”

He added: “This has been the most challenging part of my football journey so far, because this is the injury that has kept me out for the longest.”

Discussing his future ahead of next season, Ogam said: “As of now, I am a Tusker player and the focus is 100 percent on the remaining two games of the season then we see what comes on the table. We will look at everything that comes with my representatives and my family, and then we can pick on what is the best for my future.”

Apart from Ogam failing to hit his target, Tusker also failed to win the Premier League title as Kenya Police FC were crowned for the first time following their 1-0 win against Shabana on Sunday.
