Back to Arsenal, where the summer transfer window looks poised to take a decisive turn after the arrival of former Real Sociedad midfielder Martin Zubimendi and with the potential arrival of Sporting striker Viktor Gyokeres – two signings that could reshape Mikel Arteta’s side as they look to challenge once again for Premier League glory.

The Gunners were in contention for the league title last season, but fine margins exposed the need for added depth, physicality and goal threat.

Enter Gyokeres, the Swedish powerhouse who scored 49 goals in all competitions for Sporting last season.

With his combination of pace, strength and clinical finishing, could the forward provide the cutting edge Arsenal occasionally lacked in tight matches?

In midfield, Zubimendi brings the technical excellence, tactical intelligence and composure that could see him slot into the deep-lying role either alongside or rotating with Declan Rice.

The Spaniard’s ability to dictate tempo and resist the press offers Arsenal greater control in big games, something they have sometimes struggled with.

Here’s how a possible Arsenal XI might look with both Gyokeres and Zubimendi in the team:
