In a milestone moment, the launch of TIDES marks Hong Kong’s first purpose-built mid-sized music venue by Live Nation. The grand ceremony took place on 14 October and was a perfect way to usher in a new era of live music venues in Hong Kong.
The official opening of the venue saw it being inaugurated by lauded Hong Kong talents including The Hertz, Beanies, Novel Fergus, and Le Shing, who took the stage. The performances dazzled audiences and set the standard for future shows that will take place at TIDES.
With a nod to the area’s rich maritime history, the overall artistic and design direction of TIDES aligns with concepts such as waves, voyages, and journeys — sailing through an ocean of music and acting as a cultural beacon for Hong Kong. TIDES was completely designed in-house by Live Nation as they worked tirelessly to make the 1,500-capacity mid-sized venue the gem for live acts looking to perform in Hong Kong.
Mr Anthony Lau, Executive Director of the Hong Kong Tourism Board, said, “As Asia’s Events Capital, Hong Kong celebrates a year-round calendar packed with concerts and entertainment events that come in waves. The opening of TIDES not only provides a brand-new mid-sized venue for both local and global artists to engage with fans, but also plays an important role in promoting Hong Kong’s event tourism development. We commend Live Nation for bringing this world-class, tour-grade facility to Hong Kong and look forward to TIDES attracting a wide range of exciting performances and becoming a must-visit cultural hotspot.”
TIDES keeps up with the pace of modern touring as it was designed with the needs of artists in mind. The 30,000-square-foot structure offers professional integrated production capabilities and touring-grade infrastructure that allows for plug-and-play efficiency thanks to 360-degree sound and lighting technology.

With the vast capabilities of TIDES that come with the state-of-the-art technology integrated into the venue, it opens up a plethora of possibilities for the space. Outside of being a performance venue, TIDES could also host corporate functions, fan meetings, brand activations, mid-scale productions, and more — opening up a sea of opportunities.
With TIDES, there is no compromise on quality as the facilities meet the needs for any use of the venue — including the upper deck that features a VIP lounge with private amenities and a live show feed, and a slew of backstage hospitality features such as the Sunset Bar that offers themed drinks and local collaborations, artist areas, a production room, and a green room for interviews.

Not only does TIDES cater to performers, but it also caters to their audiences with the Captain’s Bar Upper Floor Standing Area that allows fans to have an unobstructed view of the stage and venue, perfect for when their favourite artists are giving the performance of a lifetime.

Now that the venue has officially opened for business, music lovers can keep their eyes peeled for news of their beloved artists coming to town. In a proud partnership with Mastercard, TIDES is set to host up to 250 events yearly.
At the end of 2025 alone, TIDES has a spectacular lineup of upcoming performances with acts such as Japanese rock band Novelbright making their awaited Hong Kong debut on 18 October, The Hertz returning after a two-and-a-half-year hiatus with special Live In 正常病院 2025 shows on 31 October and 1 November, and the ever-sensational multi-platinum global streaming icon bbno$ on 13 November as part of his It’s Pronounced Baby No Money World Tour.

Stephanie Bax, President of Venue Development Asia at Live Nation, commented, “TIDES is here to energise Hong Kong’s entertainment culture by giving emerging talent a stage to perform and bring their creative vision to life. Around the world, venues like TIDES have been vital proving grounds for new artists — helping them connect with fans, grow their reach, and elevate the live experience. With its fully equipped, mid-sized design, TIDES is ideal not only for concerts but also for a wide range of events and partnerships with promoters, event organisers, sponsors, and brands year-round.”

With its grand opening, TIDES marks a defining chapter in Hong Kong’s live entertainment landscape — one that bridges world-class production with local creativity. As the city continues to solidify its place as Asia’s hub for music and culture, TIDES stands as both a stage and a symbol — celebrating artistry, innovation, and connection.
