This vibe coding app develops SwiftUI apps right on your iPhone

A group of ex-Apple employees who co-created SwiftUI has launched a vibe coding iPhone app that takes voice or text input, writes SwiftUI apps in seconds, and even lets you distribute them through TestFlight. Honestly, it is kind of awesome. Here’s how it works.

Love it or hate it, vibe coding is here to stay. And while you probably can’t vibe code your way to a Fortune 500 company (yet), there are genuine use cases in which using AI to jumpstart (or completely handle) a coding project can be quite helpful.

In fact, that was the original idea behind vibe coding, when OpenAI co-founder Andrej Karpathy coined the term back in February:

While there are entire platforms and businesses working on evolving vibe coding into an actual advanced coding agent, there is still plenty of room for services that might let non-developer users turn their ideas into simple apps for their own use. That’s exactly what bitrig does.

Coding simple ideas in seconds

Let’s get the downsides out of the way: bitrig accepts only 5 daily messages, which is pretty strict. Free users can send up to 30 messages per month, while Pro users who subscribe to the $19.99 monthly plan get more monthly messages, although they’re still limited to 5 daily messages. Hopefully, these limits will improve in the future.

That said, bitrig is really well-thought-out, and it is fast. It comes with three pre-baked prompts: Tip Calculator, Metronome, and Stock Chart, but you can also just type in what you need, and it’ll get to work.

During the inference process, you can see its chain of thought, and after the app is done, you can tap the ellipsis button and even choose to view the code so that you can make adjustments yourself.

bitrig supports dozens of frameworks, such as AVFoundation, ContactsUI, MapKit, PhotosUI, WidgetKit, and even Apple’s foundation models if you’ve got an Apple Intelligence-compatible iPhone running iOS 26. In the future, they plan on expanding this support to dozens more, including SensorKit, NearbyInteraction, and VisualIntelligence.

Once you’re happy with your app, well… you’re done. Or, if you’re a Pro subscriber with a paid Apple Developer Account, you can distribute your app to TestFlight.

To be clear, this is obviously not meant for advanced developers, although many of them can also see how asking an AI agent to build a simple app can save time. However, for regular users who have specific needs or app ideas, and who never got around to learning how to code, bitrig is one of the most impressive and empowering apps that the App Store has seen in a while.
