These celebrities share their favorite bagel flavors and ingredients: Timothée Chalamet, Sarah Jessica Parker…

Despite its Polish origins, few foods are more New York than the bagel, but the classic roll with a hole has become a beloved breakfast staple across the U.S. With National Bagelfest Day falling on Saturday, July 26, it’s the perfect excuse to treat yourself, and see how your favorite celebs stack their bagels.

But with a whole host of bagel flavors to choose from, which one do you go for? Cream cheese? Mashed avocado? Jam? Smoked salmon? Bacon, egg and cheese? These are among the most popular options but are just the tip of an exhaustive list of fillings.

Many people, of course, have a go-to order. If, however, you’re looking for inspiration or to try something new, several celebrities have shared their bagel-related preferences over the years, as highlighted by Food & Wine.

Celebrity bagel orders

Timothée Chalamet’s bagel

Oscar nominee Timothée Chalamet may live an extravagant life, but his bagel orders couldn’t be much simpler, as he revealed in an interview with Vanity Fair. A bacon, egg and cheese sandwich on an everything bagel is the actor’s number one choice.

Alex Cooper

Cooper, who hosts “Call Her Daddy,” the second most popular podcast globally on Spotify in 2024, has similar tastes to Chalamet, but with one main difference. In a 2023 TikTok video, she explained the best bagel, in her mind, is bacon, egg and cheese on a toasted everything bagel, with cream cheese added.

Sarah Jessica Parker

Actress Parker is a little more adventurous, as she explained in a 2021 interview. The “Sex and the City” star explained she usually opts for a toasted bagel “with Kerrygold butter wall to wall.” She then tops it off with Grey Poupon mustard and four slices of Boar’s Head salami.

Cynthia Nixon

Although we can’t be totally sure how much bagel-eating was done on the set of SATC, we do know Parker’s co-star Nixon is also partial to one. Speaking to HBO Max in 2018, the “And Just Like That” actress revealed her preference for cream cheese, lox, tomatoes, red onion and capers on a cinnamon raisin bagel.

Michael B. Jordan

“Black Panther” star Jordan is also a fan of cinnamon raisin bagels, as we discovered thanks to Paige DeSorbo of “Summer House” fame. He, though, tops it off with cream cheese, bacon, and jelly, a combination of contrasts.

Jalen Brunson

In a TikTok clip posted by the New York Knicks, it was revealed star point guard Jalen Brunson’s regular order is an everything bagel with eggs, cheese, hash browns and chipotle mayonnaise (with the hash browns on the bagel, “of course”).

Alix Earle

TikTok star Earle, who rose to prominence with her “Get Ready With Me” videos, has previously explained she orders an egg bagel with pork roll and cream cheese, describing meat and cream cheese as the “ultimate combo.”

What is National Bagelfest Day?

Celebrated every July 26, National Bagelfest Day is a quirky U.S. food holiday honoring the beloved bagel.
