Theo Hernandez will not join Milan pre-season while waiting for Al-Hilal

Sunday’s reports confirm that Theo Hernandez will not join the rest of the Milan squad for the start of pre-season training next week while he awaits the formal completion of his transfer to Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal.

Theo Hernandez is on the verge of joining Al-Hilal on a permanent basis after six years in San Siro with the Rossoneri.

Milan had sought a fee in the region of €25m for the France international, who is now into the final year of his contract. Multiple reports suggest that a deal is on the verge of being completed for a fee of €20m plus up to €5m in bonuses.

The same is also true for Yacine Adli, Ismael Bennacer and Devis Vasquez, who are all expected to leave the club this summer.

Technically, the four players have been granted a few extra days of holiday, but it is understood that none of them are part of Masimiliano Allegri’s plans for the forthcoming season.

The Rossoneri continue to seek a permanent replacement for Theo at left-back, and Sunday’s reports indicate that Gent’s 23-year-old Archie Brown is among the leading candidates to join this summer.
