The Importance Of A Healthy And Clean Lifestyle Program In Schools For The Future Of Quality Children

JAKARTA – Realizing Indonesia Gold 2045 is one of the main focuses of the current government. To create this, Human Resources (HR) which are the main targets for the formation are children at school age.

In shaping children to have a quality future, not only from education and character, but also from their health side. Therefore, it is important to adopt a healthy and clean lifestyle in schools for the health of children who are well maintained.

The role of the government in achieving this is very much needed, including collaboration to help with its better implementation. As did Kao Indonesia, which held the KAO Children’s Education program (Creative, Active, Optimistic) – Sehat School 2025.

The program forms social contributions and efforts to create a cleaner, healthier, and environmentally caring future generation. This program is officially supported by the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education of the Republic of Indonesia (Kemendikdasmen) and the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia (Kemenkes).

“We are proud to be able to continue cross-sector synergistic collaboration to jointly create future generations that are not only physically and mentally healthy, but also have high awareness of personal hygiene and environmental sustainability,” said President Director of Kao Indonesia, Shoichi Hasegawa, in an official statement, Thursday, August 21, 2025.

In its implementation, the 2025 Healthy School program includes increasing awareness of the implementation and practice of Clean and Healthy Living Behavior for children. Starting from washing hands with soap, bathing after activities, maintaining clothing hygiene, managing menstrual hygiene, to environmental cleanliness through the habit of separating packaged waste.

Not only that, the Healthy School program is also expected in the future to teach children about the consumption of balanced nutritious food, a healthy lifestyle, for overall good body health.

“It is hoped that it will not only teach children the importance of implementing clean and healthy living behavior in schools, including eating balanced nutritious foods, including controlling excess sugar consumption, diligently exercising 1 hour per day, not smoking, washing hands properly, following health checks,” said Director of Health and Community Health Promotion, Directorate General of Primary Health and Community of the Indonesian Ministry of Health, dr. Elvieda Sarawati, M. Epid.

In addition, the Healthy School, Kao Indonesia also initiated the KAO Bisa (Disposal Pills) children in 10 selected schools. This is part of an effort to raise concern for self-cleaning and the environment in processing waste, to create cleaner changes in schools that are beneficial for their future.
