Terrorists launch rockets at Rafah aid site, no damage reported

The rockets fell in an area adjacent to the Morag Corridor, in close proximity to the distribution point, but the site was undamaged by the attack.

Terrorists launched rockets from Khan Yunis at a humanitarian aid distribution point in Rafah on Wednesday, the IDF announced on Thursday night.

The rockets fell in an area adjacent to the Morag Corridor, in close proximity to the distribution point, but the site was undamaged by the attack.

Despite the attacks, the distribution site continued to give aid packages to Palestinian civilians, the IDF noted.

The military stressed that the rockets were just the latest attempt by Hamas to disrupt the distribution of aid by the US-backed Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF).

History of Hamas targeting aid workers

The humanitarian aid organization previously said in late June that Hamas had targeted its personnel and aid workers in the Strip.

“According to these reports, Hamas has placed bounties on both our American security personnel and Palestinian aid workers – offering cash rewards to anyone who injures or kills them,” the aid organization said in a statement.

Also in June, the GHF had also urged the UN to “publicly condemn the targeting of humanitarian workers in Gaza” and to partner with the group on a new system for getting food “straight to Palestinian families,” according to a letter delivered to Secretary-General António Guterres.

Days later, a joint statement by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Israel Katz said that the Israeli military must present a plan to prevent Hamas from taking control of humanitarian aid.
