
Rajkot: A 52-year-old tabla artist living in Bhuj has filed a police complaint alleging that he was defrauded of Rs 41 lakh after being lured into forex trading with lucrative returns.Anand Chaudhary, originally from Patan district, came across an advertisement related to forex trading on March 15 while browsing Facebook on his mobile phone. The advertisement promised high returns if he followed the trading tips provided by the firm’s so-called team. After showing interest, he received a registration link and proceeded to enroll.He initially deposited Rs 3 lakh on March 26, and the amount appeared in his wallet. Encouraged by the apparent profits visible in the trading account, he kept depositing more money , eventually transferringRs 24 lakh across different bank accounts. However, when he tried to withdraw his profits, he was asked to pay further charges. Despite paying those additional Rs 17.06 lakh, he did not receive his original investment or the promised profits.The complaint was lodged at the Cybercrime police station, Border Range Bhuj.The fraudsters claimed to represent a company named Catalyst Market Ltd.
