SMM Analysis:The 2025 National Day Holiday Arrangements of Galvanized Sheet Enterprises in China

SMM September 25 News:

As the National Day and Mid-Autumn holidays approach, SMM conducted a survey on the operational status of downstream galvanized sheet enterprises during the holiday. This survey covered 20 galvanized sheet enterprises with a total capacity of 17.82 million mt. According to the survey results, most enterprises maintained normal production during the National Day holiday, with only one enterprise planning maintenance shutdown, affecting zinc consumption by 263 mt. Overall, the holiday arrangements were largely similar to previous years. In terms of orders, SMM learned that as the weather cooled, construction board orders gradually recovered in September; under the “Double 11” shopping festival stocking demand, home appliance board orders also increased MoM, while auto board orders continued to perform moderately. Overall, galvanized sheet orders increased MoM, but the overall level was lower than last year. The “September peak season” performance was lackluster, coupled with poor order profits, leading galvanized sheet factories to adopt a cautious wait-and-see attitude towards future market conditions. Regarding raw material inventory, with zinc prices falling sharply this week, some galvanized sheet factories took advantage of the low prices for purchasing, but due to production schedule constraints, most factories mainly focused on regular purchasing and restocking, maintaining raw material inventory at around 10-15 days, which remains within the normal inventory range
