The High-Tech Industrial Development Zone in Sichuan province's Chengdu, recorded a total GDP of nearly 350 billion yuan in 2024. Enterprises established in the area include Aerofugia and Adaspace Technology.

This is AE200, a manned eVTOL aircraft developed by Aerofugia, an aviation enterprise under the Geely Technology Group. Aerofugia said they chose Chengdu in Sichuan as their industrial development base because the place has many advantages, including an extensive pool of aviation talent.

The company said Chengdu is one of the six pilot locations for low-altitude business development,
allowing enterprises to receive more support from the authorities compared to setting up in other major cities.

Speaking of potential collaboration with Hong Kong, the mainland enterprise said it had been in touch with the SAR government and some tertiary institutions.

Despite having skyscrapers everywhere, the company spokesperson said Hong Kong can still find ways to promote the low-altitude economy that will suit the city's operational model.

Meanwhile, Adaspace Technology, which specialises in AI satellite internet technology, set up its office in the development zone in 2018. Adaspace has so far launched 21 AI satellites.

The company applied for listing on Hong Kong stock exchange earlier this year but did not complete the procedures. But another listing application has been filed in August.
