SHOW REVIEW: Testing Expo China – Automotive 2025

Testing Expo China 2025 – Automotive, held at the Shanghai World Expo Exhibition and Convention Center in August, brought together over 330 exhibitors, more than 30 speakers and thousands of visitors. The event highlighted cutting-edge technologies for testing, validation and calibration that are driving the transformation of China’s automotive industry. Key areas of focus included autonomous vehicle (AV) and ADAS development, electric and hybrid powertrain testing, next-generation EV battery technology and safety evaluation, charging and energy management systems, and NVH analysis.

Feedback from exhibitors and attendees was positive. Xiaodong Ye, sales director for Asia-Pacific at VI-grade, said, “This is one of very few high-quality testing events that I have attended that provides a comprehensive experience across the testing sector. For my team and me, it is always a one-stop shop where we can network with industry experts, customers and business partners, and witness new technologies and innovations.”

Hong He, a project manager at Shanghai Shihan Machinery Equipment, enthused, “As the flagship event in the global automotive testing technology sector, Testing Expo China – Automotive has always been the central hub for industry innovation and collaboration. The exhibition provides exhibitors and suppliers with unparalleled global exposure and business opportunities, and we look forward to gathering again in 2026 to drive automotive testing technology to new heights.”

AB Dynamics.AB Dynamics, in collaboration with Bolab Systems and Ansible Motion, introduced integrated vehicle development solutions. These included driverless testing using robots for steering, pedal and gearshift, ADAS targets approved by Euro NCAP, K&C testing with advanced capabilities, testing systems for voltage and current, and driver-in-the-loop simulators that provide an immersive experience. The companies delivered an integrated portfolio that supports every stage of vehicle development. “Together with Bolab Systems and Ansible Motion, we showcased a complete range of solutions for every stage of vehicle development, and engaged with industry peers shaping the future,”  said Matthew Dustan, director of laboratory test systems at AB Dynamics.

HBK.HBK introduced Fusion RX, its next-generation rugged data acquisition solution designed for harsh, unattended environments and built for maximum reliability to perform seamlessly under extreme conditions. The system offers flexibility for unattended logging and interactive operation, featuring an efficient software workflow that delivers results within minutes and supports a wide range of testing needs ranging from road load data acquisition (RLDA) to long-term monitoring in the toughest environments. The company said that Fusion RX expands its comprehensive portfolio, enabling customers to meet demanding testing challenges with confidence.

3CTest.3CTest showcased its next-generation electrostatic gun, the EDS MAX30. The solution features proprietary high-voltage stabilization and electrostatic chamber transmission technologies that deliver greater testing accuracy and reliability. This advance strengthens ESD immunity testing for automotive electronics and complete vehicles. Throughout the event, 3CTest’s technical team impressed visitors with live demonstrations, customized EMC testing solutions and one-to-one consultations aimed at enhancing product quality.

Hongke.Elsewhere on the show floor, HongKe unveiled the PCAN-XL standard high-efficiency starter kit, its next-generation automotive communication solution. Developed to overcome the bandwidth limitations of traditional CAN protocols, the kit supports payloads of up to 2,048 bytes per frame and transfer rates of up to 20Mbit/s, making it suitable for high-load scenarios such as ECU flashing. It is also compatible with CAN XL, FD and CC protocols, enabling comprehensive multi-standard testing. Featuring USB-CAN XL interfaces, analysis software and development APIs, the starter kit provides a complete plug-and-play environment for advanced vehicle communication testing.

Zeer.Visitors were impressed by Zeer’s showcase of its crash test dummies, including the Hunan SAF. The company presented its independently developed series of dummies, which are widely applied in automotive crash testing, aviation and defense, helping to fill the gap in domestic production of passive safety test dummies. “In the future, Zeer will continue leveraging ATE to collaborate with more partners and drive advances in automotive safety testing technologies,” said Tan Jie, the general manager of Zeer.

Horiba Mira.On the Horiba Mira booth, the company showcased the next-generation MEXAcube emissions analyzer, which features a modular design and high mobility, delivering a strong correlation between laboratory and real-world driving tests. It also presented the Intelligent Chassis All-for-One Domain Control Development Solution and the Vehicle Thermal Management HIL Solution, both highlighting advanced platforms tailored for the era of electrification and autonomous driving. The company’s industry experts noted that the exhibition was a key opportunity to witness Horiba’s technical strengths and its readiness to meet future regulatory demands and support carbon neutrality.

Polelink.Cutting-edge X-in-the-loop testing methods for chassis systems drew attention at the event. On the Shanghai PoleLink Information Technology booth, the company demonstrated how seamless transitions between MIL, SIL and HIL simulations deliver an authentic steering feel in laboratory environments and dynamic driving simulators. Industry observers noted that this approach not only enhances realism in steering evaluation but also significantly reduce development costs and time. With the growing demand in China for linking MIL, SIL and HIL to maximize test case reuse and enable earlier verification, PoleLink has positioned itself as a trusted provider of professional third-party testing services. The company’s marketing director, Zhiguo Wu, said, “We showcased the latest testing technology for steering, ADAS and V2X applications. We hoped to meet technical experts from OEMs and suppliers who were seeking advanced automotive electronics testing equipment and services, as Testing Expo China – Automotive remains the most professional and popular trade show in China.”

Technology Presentation Stage

On the Technology Presentation Stage, experts from more than 30 leading suppliers and innovators discussed the topics affecting the industry, and introduced new technologies to deal with them. Participating companies included Itech Electronic, Intrepid Control Systems, Keysight Technologies, Beijing Racobit Electronic Information Technology, Shanghai Tosun Technology and AVL China.

Technology Presentation Stage.

The presentations covered a wide range of areas, including test cases of Itech’s new-energy vehicles and incremental automotive electronic components; the requirements for end-of-line (EOL) testing systems for software-defined vehicles (SDVs); an introduction to noise measurement standards for eVTOL; technological innovations in intelligent chassis testing with full-scenario HIL solutions; and global brake emission standards and AVL’s measurement approach.
