Shahid Kapoor is gearing up to star as the immortal warrior in his upcoming action epic Ashwatthama The Saga Continues. Directed by Sachin Ravi, the movie will dive into the legend of Ashwatthama, son of Drona, from the Mahabharata. Vashu Bhagnani, Jackky Bhagnani, and Deepshikha Deshmukh are producing the movie under Pooja Entertainment. It will be available in Hindi, Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam.
The action-packed movie will be set in the present era, showing the rapid technological advancements and humanity’s remarkable capabilities. Amidst this, Ashwatthama will confront the challenges of modernity, as he would come to face formidable adversaries.

Ashwatthama The Saga Continues: Shahid Kapoor to play lead role in Sachin Ravi’s directorial
On March 19, 2024, Amazon Prime Video announced the title at its #AreYouReady content showcase event in Mumbai. The official release date and the rest of the cast are yet to be announced. However, Ashwatthama The Saga Continues will be available to stream on Amazon Prime Video after its theatrical release.
Later, Shahid Kapoor took to his social media to announce the same. He captioned the post with, “Myth and reality will blur, as past and present collide, when an ancient legend meets this modern marvel! This is the story of #AshwatthamaTheSagaContinues, the immortal warrior a Magnum Opus you cannot miss.”
At the event, director Sachin Ravi shared that immortality is an intriguing concept that evokes many emotions and dramatic scenarios. Moreover, the existence of Ashwatthama as an immortal living in the present day inspired him to work on the narrative of the movie.
“For me, immortality is an intriguing concept that evokes a plethora of emotions and dramatic scenarios. The story of Ashwatthama from the Mahabharata, an immortal being believed to be living even today, is what fuelled my desire to delve into his narrative. My aim was to bring this tale to life, placing him in the present timeline and navigating the intricate psyche of an immortal being, exploring how he perceives a world he has witnessed for thousands of years. I sought to present his story within the grandeur of an epic-scaled action film,” Ravi shared.
