Sen. Jacque Honors Wisconsin Author Jerry Apps

The Wisconsin State Senate recently passed a resolution honoring Ellison Bay’s Jerry Apps, a prolific author of more than 50 books that have preserved the stories of country life in the Badger State.

“Thousands of people over three generations have learned about Wisconsin’s dairy and agricultural history thanks to Jerry Apps,” State Sen. André Jacque (R-New Franken) said. “Mr. Apps and his books are beloved by Wisconsinites from all walks of life, and I am very proud to call him a constituent of the 1st Senate District.”

Through the years, Apps’ personal stories and deep knowledge have connected readers to the land and the people who built and sustained their rural communities.

“As many of our lives have become centered on urban areas, Jerry Apps’ works are essential reminders of the bedrock rural values and traditions upon which Wisconsin was built,” Sen. Jacque said. “What makes his stories especially engaging are his own lived experiences that draw the reader in and bring this history to life.”

The measure honoring Apps is Senate Joint Resolution 71.
