Sarri remains on Milan shortlist to replace ConcaiƧao

Maurizio Sarri remains on Milan’s shortlist to replace Sergio ConceiƧao as the Rossoneri are eager to start the new season with an Italian tactician at the helm.

Former Juventus, Napoli and Chelsea coach Sarri remains on Milan’s shortlist for the 2025-26 campaign as the Serie A giants aim to start a new project with an Italian tactician in charge.

Sarri already emerged as a replacement for Paulo Fonseca in December, but the Italian tactician rejected a short-term contract, prompting the Rossoneri to hire Sergio ConceiƧao.

The Portuguese is contracted to 2026, but Milan are expected to activate an option to terminate the agreement at the end of the current season.

According to Gazzetta, Sarri remains one of the primary names for the Rossoneri in 2025-26.

Other Italian coaches, such as Antonio Conte, Massimiliano Allegri, Gian Piero Gasperini, and Roberto Mancini,Ā are believed to be monitored by the club.

Milan CEO Giorgio Furlani is still looking for a new sporting director and has already met Igli Tare several times.

The ex-Lazio director is without a club, but Furlani doesn’t seem entirely convinced about his appointment.

Other candidates for the sporting director role, Tony D’Amico, Giovanni Sartori and Giovanni Manna, are all under contract with other Serie A clubs, and Gazzetta reports that the Rossoneri could eventually confirm the current club structure if they don’t find a suitable candidate soon.

What Sarri said about his future

The Italian tactician has been without a club since resigning from Lazio a year ago.

During one of his latest interviews, he said: ā€œI am open to all projects that attract me.

ā€œFor now, the only four clubs that approached me come from abroad, specifically from the Premier League and La Liga. It depends on the opportunities and which mid-long-term project attracts me.ā€

Sarri is a 2019-20 Scudetto champion with Juventus and led Chelsea to winning the Europa League in the previous campaign.

Tottenham vs Bodo/Glimt: Europa League semi-final sees Norwegian champions aim to pull off another big upset | Football News

Underestimate Bodo/Glimt at your peril, Tottenham. Just ask Porto, Besiktas, Olympiakos and Lazio this season. Roma and Celtic, who were managed then by Spurs boss Ange Postecoglou, were also victims four years ago. The most recent giant-killing of Lazio, though, was particularly historic as Bodo/Glimt became the first Norwegian side to reach a European semi-final.
