‘Russian Strikes Louder Than US Attempts to Force Russia to Peace’ Amid 322 UAVs Attack

Russian forces launched a massive attack on Ukraine from 8:00 p.m. on June 9 to the morning of June 10, firing 322 drones and missiles, according to the Ukrainian Air Force.

In a report on Telegram, it was revealed that Russia deployed 315 Shahed attack UAVs, various types of simulator drones, two KN-23 ballistic missiles, and five Iskander-K cruise missiles.

“The primary target of the attack was the Ukrainian capital, Kyiv!” the report said.

The Ukrainian Defense Forces successfully repelled the airstrike using aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare, unmanned systems, and mobile fire groups.

As of 9:00 a.m., Ukraine’s air defenses had neutralized 284 Russian air attack vehicles. Of those, 220 were shot down by fire, and 64 were suppressed by electronic warfare.

A total of 213 Russian Shahed and other drones were downed by fire, while 64 were lost due to location or electronic suppression. All seven missiles were also shot down.

Despite the defense efforts, strikes hit 11 locations, with fragments of downed drones falling in 16 areas across the country.

President Volodymyr Zelensky responded to the attack on Telegram, stating that “Russian missile and Shahed strikes are louder than the attempts by the United States and others to force Russia to peace.”

He called it one of the largest strikes on Kyiv and confirmed that Odesa, Dnipro, and Chernihiv regions were also targeted. The assault damaged residential homes, urban infrastructure, and even a maternity hospital in Odesa.

Russian attacks hit Kyiv and Odesa, with thick smoke rising over Kyiv from multiple fires. Odesa’s maternity hospital was targeted, while residential areas, medical facilities suffered severe damage.

“Thirteen people were injured. Unfortunately, there are fatalities. My condolences to the families,” Zelensky wrote.

He stressed the importance of global action in response to such attacks, stating that silence would not suffice.

“Action from America, which has the power to force Russia into peace. Action from Europe, which has no alternative but to be strong. Action from others around the world who called for diplomacy and an end to the war – and whom Russia has ignored,” Zelensky said.

“There must be strong pressure for the sake of peace,” he added.
