PSG Willing to Make Bold Transfer Decision for Barcelona Standout

PSG claimed a thrilling 2-1 win over FC Barcelona on Wednesday night at Montjuïc Stadium. Barcelona struck first in the 19th minute when Ferran Torres scored, giving the hosts early momentum and confidence.

However, PSG responded before halftime. In the 38th minute, Senny Mayulu calmly finished a Nuno Mendes pass to equalize and quiet the home crowd. Both sides created chances in the second half, but neither could take the lead as tension grew.

After defeating Barcelona on Wednesday, the French club could also be looking to challenge them off the pitch. According to SPORT (h/t Le10Sport), PSG are closely monitoring Eric Garcia.

The 24-year-old center-back’s contract with Barcelona expires at the end of the season, and starting next January, PSG will be allowed to negotiate directly with him.

Despite the interest, the outlet notes that Barcelona coach Hansi Flick is determined to keep Garcia. SPORT adds that, even with offers from PSG and other clubs, the former Manchester City defender has made his decision: He wants to extend with the Spanish side.

It will be interesting to see how this situation transpires and whether manager Luis Enrique can lure him away from Barcelona beginning in January.
