US President Donald Trump has arrived in Scotland for a four-day private visit.

He is due to meet the prime minister and First Minister John Swinney, though he begins his first day by playing golf at Trump Turnberry.

His motorcade drove to the luxury resort in South Ayrshire after Air Force One touched down at Prestwick Airport on Friday evening.

A major security operation has been under way in South Ayrshire and Aberdeenshire this week, ahead of the president’s trip.
