Everton have been handed a huge boost in their bid to sign a new winger for manager David Moyes this summer, according to reports – with Ipswich Town star Omari Hutchinson being in their sights ahead of a potential move to Merseyside, as the winger would ‘love’ to join the Toffees this summer.
Everton have waved goodbye to loanees Jack Harrison and Jesper Lindstrom, both of whom largely failed to deliver last season in terms of output. With new contracts being handed to Jarrad Branthwaite and Idrissa Gueye, the focus is now on improving their attacking ranks, and that could see Hutchinson join the club to improve the level of quality out wide – with the player thought to ‘love’ the idea of a switch to the ever-present Premier League club.

The report by Football Insider states that Everton have been given encouragement in their pursuit of Hutchinson – with the England under-21 star thought to be in ‘love’ with the idea of a return to the Premier League next season.

Hutchinson – who has been described as the ‘Premier League’s new most wanted man’ shone for England under-21s in their European Championships win this summer, and that has only added to any potential move in the summer window, with Ipswich having ‘long anticipated’ a bid for the diminutive winger.
His contract does include a £35million release clause which has been activated after relegation to the Championship, and Everton are now ‘well-placed’ to trigger that, with Moyes being in the market for a new wide man to accompany Dwight McNeil and Iliman Ndiaye in the wide positions.
Although he only produced five goal contributions in 30 starts for Ipswich last season, they only won one game in 2025 in the Premier League – and with better players around him, that could be improved upon next season at Goodison Park.
Everton could put Ipswich to the sword by activating his release clause, with their big pot of money to spend this summer and a new ground in the Hill Dickinson Stadium being an appetising prospect for any potential target.
They could potentially be rivalled by West Ham United for his signature, especially if Mohammed Kudus departs for Tottenham Hotspur after the north London club made a £50million bid for his services – but it’s certainly a move to keep an eye on with the 21-year-old having impressed in his debut campaign in the top-flight.
