Once the dust had settle on Bruno Fernandes’ penalty miss, a deflected Leny Yoro header put Manchester United ahead at Craven Cottage, which officially went down as a Rodrigo Muniz own goal, before substitute Emile Smith Rowe pounced on an Alex Iwobi cross from the touchline that had bounced into the visitors’ six-yard box.

Fulham were not particularly pleased that United’s goal was given, however, as Calvin Bassey was adamant he had been unlawfully pushed by Yoro.

“That goal… I think everyone in the world saw what happened there,” Fulham boss Marco Silva told Match of the Day.

“Everyone that watches the game on TV and everyone who saw it in the stadium saw it.”

Bassey added: “For me, it is clear and obvious. He has got two hands in the back and he [Yoro] has created an advantage for himself.

“If there is no contact, I get up there and fight with him. He has clearly stopped me from getting to the ball.

“For me, it should clearly be a foul.”
