FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – A picture of what the Fresno Police Department says is the suspect’s vehicle in a deadly hit-and-run in the city was released on Friday.
The release follows the incident which took place early Thursday morning. No arrests have been announced.
1 dead in Fresno hit-and-run, no arrests made
According to the Fresno Police Department, the pedestrian was hit and killed shortly after midnight Thursday morning in southeast Fresno. Police say the suspect vehicle was traveling southbound on Chestnut Avenue and struck the pedestrian as he was in the southbound lanes south of Clinton Avenue.
The vehicle continued southbound on Chestnut Avenue towards Cambridge Avenue.
According to investigators the suspect vehicle made a U-turn and went northbound on Chestnut Avenue past the collision scene – and then eastbound on Clinton Avenue and left the scene.
The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene. The suspect vehicle was captured on surveillance video. No arrests have been made at this time.
