Pep Guardiola stuns everybody with new look ahead of Man City’s Premier League opener

Pep Guardiola shocked Manchester City fans as he showed off a brand new moustache ahead of the start of the Premier League season.

In less than two weeks, City begin their 2025/26 Premier League season with an away trip to the Molineux Stadium to face Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Following a busy summer at the Club World Cup, City will play their first, and only, pre-season friendly against Italian side Palermo F.C.on August 9.

Ahead of the match, the City players and staff are enjoying a break to prepare themselves for another busy season.

Of course, City manager Guardiola has also taken some time off ahead of the 25/26 season, and in doing so it appears he has decided to shake up his appearance with a brand new moustache.

Throughout his career at Manchester City, Guardiola has become well-known for his bald head and strong facial hair, with the 54-year-old typically rocking a beard and moustache.

However, before the season gets underway, it appears that the City boss is experimenting with his look, as he’s decided to massively change his facial hear, sporting a much more noticeable moustache while ditching the beard all together.

Reacting to Guardiola’s new look, one City fan wrote: “Yeah, be scared. Pep Guardiola is officially back.”

Another agreed, writing: “Premier League should be trembling now.”

And one claimed: “Bud is now going to have the best season of his career.”

While another added: “The league is not ready for a bald moustache Josep Guardiola. TREBLE LOADING.”

It is unclear if Guardiola will decide to keep the moustache for the 25/26 season or if he will continue to experiment with his facial hair throughout the season, but one things that is clear is that fans are excited about it.

What are the expectations of Manchester City in 2025/26?

After a disastrous seven-game winless streak that was undoubtedly the worst run in Guardiola’s career, City were able to finish the season well, earning them a third-place spot in the Premier League.

With Ballon d’Or winner Rodri set to return and major signings such as Rayan Cherki, Tijjani Reijnders and Rayan Ait-Nouri joining City, they will no doubt feel as strong as ever heading into a new season.

As it stands, City sit as the third favourites to win the 2025/26 Premier League title, behind current holders Liverpool and Arsenal, while they are the sixth favourite to lift the Champions League trophy.
