Why Domino’s may deliver market-beating returns to the investment giant. As many stock market observers know, Warren Buffett‘s Berkshire Hathaway has been a net seller of stocks. Nvidia, up 26,927% Nvidia (NVDA 0.86%) is the 800-pound gorilla in the semiconductor world, with a recent market value of $4.4 trillion — a not-entirely surprising size, given its torrid growth in recent years. Long known as a gaming-chip company, Nvidia is now heavily involved in the artificial intelligence (AI) boom and is cranking out chips for data centers. Its stock appears reasonably valued, with a recent forward-looking price-to-earnings (P/E) ratio of 28, well below the five-year average of 39. 2. You’ve no doubt heard the phrase, “What goes up can come down.” This adage continually lurks in the background of the brains of many investors who have lived long enough. Warren Buffett’s favorite valuation indicator One big reason for investors to be worried relates to an indicator popularized by none other than Warren Buffett. The investing icon said in an article published by Fortune in 2001 that the ratio of total market capitalization to gross national product (GNP) was “probably the best single measure of where valuations stand at any given moment.” This metric became known as the Buffett indicator, with gross domestic product (GDP) replacing GNP over time. Buffett said something else in that 2001 article that’s haunting, though. He stated that if the ratio ever gets close to 200%, investors are “playing with fire.” History proves that the Oracle of Omaha was right. As Buffett noted in the Fortune article, the indicator that now bears his name approached 200% in 1999 and part of 2000. What happened next? Perhaps as much as any other company, Nvidia (NVDA 0.86%) has ridden the wave of artificial intelligence (AI) adoption to new heights, becoming the world’s largest company by market cap in the process. The company pioneered the graphics processing unit (GPU), which provide the computational horsepower that underpins AI. Many experts believe it’s still early innings for AI, and the opportunity is vast. Since the dawn of AI in early 2023, Nvidia stock has risen 1,150% (as of this writing), sending some investors to the sidelines. Yet, most experts believe AI adoption will continue for years to come. Parallel processing was the technological breakthrough that made this possible. Since 1990, the growth-focused index has been through six other bull markets, and it returned an average of 31% annually during those events. That hints at substantial gains in 2026, and investors can lean into that possibility by purchasing shares of The Trade Desk (TTD 0.18%) and Atlassian (TEAM 1.25%). Wall Street is generally bullish on both artificial intelligence (AI) stocks: Among 41 analysts, The Trade Desk has a median target price of $68 per share. The Nasdaq Composite entered a new bull market earlier this year, and history says the technology-heavy index could soar in 2026 (and beyond). The Nasdaq Composite (^IXIC 0.52%) peaked in December 2024, and then dropped sharply when President Trump began imposing tariffs in early 2025. The technology-heavy index slipped into bear market territory and reached a bottom on April 8, when it closed 24% below its record high. That low point marked the beginning of a new bull market — the Nasdaq’s seventh bull market since 1990 — and history says the index will deliver monster gains in the coming years. It measures the performance of about 3,300 companies listed on the Nasdaq Stock Exchange. The index is most heavily weighted toward the technology (64%) and consumer discretionary (17%) sectors, and is commonly considered a benchmark for growth stocks. The Nasdaq Composite recently entered its seventh bull market since 1990. Importantly, while the definition of bull market varies from source to source, it typically means a stock market index has advanced 20% from the previous bear market low, and reached a new record high. New York  —  At this point, even the concept of an “AI bubble” seems to be a bubble. (In fact, Deutsche Bank analysts said last month that the “AI bubble” bubble has already burst.) Perhaps some corners of the internet are bored of the bubble talk. That’s not making the market any less, um, bubbly. Just this week, the Financial Times wrote that 10 AI startups — not a dollar in profit among them — have gained nearly $1 trillion in market value over the past 12 months. (That is, to use a technical term, bananas.) Even as Wall Street analysts and tech media increasingly question the hype, drawing uneasy comparisons to the late 1990s, the AI industry’s response has been to shrug and watch their valuations tick higher and higher. The AI faithful believe the technology will disrupt (in a good way, hopefully!) virtually every aspect of modern life, from phone operating systems to pharmaceuticals to finance. And even if there is a bubble, proponents say, the dot-com bubble gave us companies like Amazon, and the internet became, well, the internet. There are plenty of skeptics countering the AI hype machine, though few professional market analysts have done so as stridently as Julien Garran, a researcher and partner at the UK firm MacroStrategy Partnership. Earlier this month, Garran published a report claiming that we are in “the biggest and most dangerous bubble the world has ever seen.” Garran concludes that there is a “misallocation of capital in the US” that makes the current frenzy 17 times bigger than the dot-com bubble and four times bigger than the 2008 real-estate bubble. Nvidia’s stock still has strong upside from here. Nvidia (NVDA 0.86%) has grown to become the largest company in the world, but the question on many investors’ minds is if the company has more upside ahead in the coming years. The answer looks to be yes. Powering the AI infrastructure ecosystem Nvidia is much more than just a chipmaker that makes graphics processing units (GPUs). It is the company whose ecosystem is most responsible for powering the current artificial intelligence (AI) revolution that is taking place. Nvidia’s biggest advantage starts with its CUDA software platform, which it developed to allow its chips to be easily programmable for tasks outside their original purpose of speeding up graphics rendering in video games. While it took time for other markets to develop, the company smartly gave CUDA away for free to universities and research labs that were doing early work on AI. This led to nearly all foundational AI code being written on its software and optimized for its chips. Since rewriting code and retraining developers for another platform would be both costly and time-consuming, this has created a huge moat for the company. This can be seen both in the company’s market share and growth. Last quarter, it held a more than 90% market share in the GPU space, while its data center revenue climbed to $41.1 billion, up from just $10.3 billion two years ago. Nvidia’s moat does not end with CUDA, though. It developed its NVLink interconnect to allow its GPUs to act as a single unit. That keeps customers from mixing in AI chips from other vendors in an AI cluster. Meanwhile, its 2020 purchase of Mellanox gave it a networking component that allows it to provide end-to-end AI factories. Last quarter, its data networking revenue nearly doubled to
