Oppo’s Find X9 Pro Gets 200MP Camera, Huge Battery, and a Hasselblad Add-On

Android phone season continues, and today we’re getting new flagships from Chinese manufacturer Oppo. The Oppo Find X9 and Find X9 Pro each sport a powerful camera, top-end chipset, and a huge battery.

Unlike Oppo’s sister company, OnePlus, the brand has kept its partnership with Hasselblad for fine-tuning its camera experience. This time, the Find X9 Pro features a 200MP telephoto camera, and it’s all powered by Oppo’s Lumo Image Engine.

The telephoto camera is a major battleground for Android phone makers this year, with handsets from Honor, Vivo, and Xiaomi all featuring similar tech for long-distance shooting. For Oppo’s Find X9 Pro, that’s paired with two 50MP cameras, one of which is a wide-angle lens and the other an ultra-wide lens. The Find X9 features three 50MP cameras on its rear.

The phones are powered by a top-end MediaTek Dimensity 9500 chipset, which debuted in September, and both phones run on ColorOS 16 software. That’s the brand’s own version of Android 16, featuring Oppo’s own enhancements.

The batteries in both phones are massive—7,025mAh in the Find X9 and 7,500mAh in the Find X9 Pro—which Oppo claims will enable them to last for up to two full days.

The Find X9 features a 6.59-inch display, while the Find X9 Pro comes in at 6.78 inches. There are incredibly thin 1.15mm bezels around both displays. The Find X9 comes in Titanium Grey, Space Black, and Velvet Red, while the Find X9 Pro comes in Silk White and Titanium Charcoal.

Alongside the phones, Oppo has also launched a new telephoto lens attachment to enable even better zoom photography with the 200MP camera. It takes the 3.3x zoom with a 70mm focal length up to 9.6x zoom with 230mm focal length.

You can see some examples of what that extra attachment can do in our sister site CNET’s first trial of the phone. The results are incredibly detailed, although the accessory is cumbersome.

The big question is whether you’ll be able to buy the Oppo Find X9 series. The brand has a global launch for the handsets scheduled for Oct. 28 in Barcelona, but it doesn’t sell its phones in the US. Instead, Oppo’s parent company focuses on its OnePlus brand for the US market. The OnePlus 15 is coming up, and there may be some similarities between the phones, but the design differs this year.
