Lautaro Martinez claimed his third Champions League goal of the 2025-26 campaign during Inter’s 4-0 win over Union Saint-Gilloise on Tuesday evening, which brings his European tally up to 11 for the calendar year, a record that is only matched by Bayern Munich’s Harry Kane.

The Nerazzurri captain struck just before half-time in Brussels on Tuesday evening: His third Champions League goal of the campaign, which brings his European average up to a goal every 42 minutes this season.

Perhaps even more impressive is El Toro’s Champions League record in 2025. He is now up to 11 goals this calendar year, which is a record matched only by England captain Kane.

Of the nine Champions League goals that Lautaro scored last season, eight of them came in the second half of the campaign (in 2025).

Four of those eight goals came over two league phase matches, one came away against Feyenoord in the Round of 16, two came in separate legs of the quarter final against Bayern Munich, plus another at home against Barcelona in the semi-final second leg.

Lautaro is currently the joint-third highest Argentine goalscorer in Champions League history, level with Hernan Crespo on 25, behind Sergio Aguero on 41, and some way off Lionel Messi on 129.
