Week 7 Shore Sports Insider OIB Ortho Team of the Week

Shore Sports Insider is proud to partner with OIB Ortho this fall to present our weekly OIB Ortho Football Team of the Week Award, recognizing one Shore Conference program for its accomplishments on the field. We are also thrilled to welcome Joe Leone’s Italian Specialties as a co-sponsor, providing a very generous $500 Pasta Party Gift Card each week to celebrate the winning team.

The Week 7 recipient of the 2025 OIB Ortho Football Team of the Week is Toms River North following the Mariners hard-fought 37-29 victory over #6 Rumson-Fair Haven.

On Tuesday, SSI visited practice to present head coach Dave Oizerowitz and the team with a commemorative game ball and the $500 Joe Leone’s gift card for a well-earned pasta party.

Junior quarterback Logan Brill led the way for the Toms River North Mariners (4-4), tossing a pair of touchdown passes and orchestrating a balanced offensive attack in a huge win over the Rumson-Fair Haven Bulldogs (4-3).

Brill connected with junior tight end Jack Baker on a 50-yard strike to open up the scoring, then found junior running back Lucas Elias for a 6-yard touchdown pass later in the game. Elias also made a major impact on the ground, breaking free for a 50-yard rushing touchdown to put the game out of reach.

Junior wideout Cole Garrison added another explosive play with a 35-yard touchdown run, showcasing the Mariners’ big-play ability. Junior kicker Carter Tamaro chipped in with a key field goal and was perfect on extra points, rounding out a complete team effort.

The win marked a statement victory for the Mariners, who continue to find their rhythm down the stretch as they push toward postseason contention.

Next Game Week-8: Friday @ Pont Boro

The special guest to present the Team of the Week Game Ball and the $500 Pasta Party gift card was Joe Leone, the founder of Joe Leone’s Italian Specialties.
