Mark Zuckerberg Meets With NVIDIA’s CEO Jensen Huang, Performing An Iconic Jersey Swap

Meta’s CEO Mark Zuckerberg met with NVIDIA’s Jensen Huang, as both of them performed an iconic “jersey-swap” and probably had a talk about a thing or two on AI.

The Two Big AI Giants Meet Together To Swap Jerseys & Talk A Bit On AI, Meta & NVIDIA Vow To Collaborate Extensively In the Future

The Meta-NVIDIA relationship has taken an all-time high in recent times, with both of the firms collaborating to progress in a competitive market. Both companies are leading in their domains, with Team Green dominating the AI compute markets, whereas Meta is way ahead of others in the process of integrating the technology. In an Instagram post, Mark Zuckerberg revealed that he had rather an “informal” meeting with NVIDIA’s CEO Jensen Huang, where the two of them swapped their jerseys, judging by the post’s caption.

Now, we are unaware of what the talk was actually about, but Zuck wearing that iconic leather jacket means that something is cooking between the two. Meta has been at the forefront when it comes to AI developments, and it seems like the firm doesn’t look to stop just yet.

We recently reported about how Meta has placed initial orders for the NVIDIA Blackwell B200 GPUs, becoming the first big tech name to order NVIDIA’s latest AI “weapon”, getting sort of an exclusive status by Team Green. Meta plans on training its “Llama” LLM model using the Blackwell platform, potentially gaining the edge in computing power over others.

Apart from that, Mark Zuckerberg has also announced that the company will acquire 350,000 of NVIDIA’s Hopper H100s by the end of 2024. Meta will have a total of 600,000 of H100s equivalent compute power if you factor in other GPUs being utilized by the firm, which is indeed a huge number, and probably is the largest H100 arsenal owned by a single entity.

Moreover, Meta has announced its intentions for significant investment in AI-related engineering and compute developments, and a primary beneficiary here would be NVIDIA indeed since the firm is unchallenged for now when it comes to providing cutting-edge AI compute.
