Man wanted over suspected murder of missing woman may have fled Hong Kong

A man wanted in connection with the suspected murder of a missing Vietnamese woman is believed to have fled Hong Kong, while police searches for human remains have drawn a blank, the Post has learned.

A source said on Thursday that police officers had recovered some evidence related to the case near Hoi Fai Road in Tai Kok Tsui but not human remains.

“The suspect is believed to have absconded and left the city,” the source said.

Clothes thought to belong to the missing woman were found, the source added.

Officers from the police tactical unit and Kowloon West crime squad have been searching for evidence related to a 49-year-old Vietnamese woman reported missing last Saturday.

Police divers were deployed to search the waters off Hoi Fai Road on Thursday.
