Man Utd Want to Sign ‘Electric’ Premier League Forward in £46m Deal

Manchester United are now eyeing a deal to sign Bournemouth star Justin Kluivert to bolster their attack, according to CaughtOffside.

The Red Devils are looking to strengthen their squad this summer for manager Ruben Amorim after a horrific season in 2024/25 in which they finished 15th in the Premier League, while also missing out on European football entirely after suffering defeat in the Europa League final.

A lack of goals has been a major issue for the Old Trafford club in recent seasons and Amorim is now prioritising moves to strengthen the attack this summer, with Netherlands international Kluivert now emerging as a target.

Bournemouth's Justin Kluivert

Kluivert, who has been described as ‘electric’ and ‘explosive’, starred for the Cherries in the 2024/25 season under Andoni Iraola, hitting 12 goals in the Premier League as they narrowly missed out on qualifying for Europe.

That form has now seen him emerge as a target for several clubs including Manchester United, but Bournemouth are not in any rush to sell the 26-year-old. However, having signed him for around £10m from Roma just two years, the club are open to selling him for a big profit and have set his asking price at between £40-46m.

Man Utd have already completed a deal to sign Matheus Cunha from Wolves this summer, and are also chasing Brentford star Bryan Mbeumo. However, they face competition from Tottenham Hotspur in the race for the Cameroon star, and Kluivert could represent a cheaper alternative.

Amorim is also looking to strengthen his number nine position, but the Reds have been dealt a blow in their pursuit of Sporting star Viktor Gyokeres after he informed the club that he is not interested in a move to Old Trafford this summer amid rival interest from Arsenal.

INEOS have been public about a lack of funds to spend this summer, and are looking to fund their summer window with sales. Marcus Rashford, Antony, Jadon Sancho and Alejandro Garnacho are all expected to leave permanently during the window, while it’s believed almost everyone in the squad except Bruno Fernandes would be sold for the right price.
