L’Oréal launches new beauty and technology initiative in China

Global beauty group  L’Oréal  has launched a comprehensive new initiative in China called “The Beauty of Longevity.” This initiative, which aims to reposition skincare as a fundamental component of lifelong wellness, is grounded in L’Oréal’s comprehensive Longevity Integrative Science. Developed over 15 years, this systematised framework integrates technology, longevity, and beauty to power a holistic approach to beauty innovations.

“About 15 years back, long before it became a buzzword, we engaged tremendously in this quest, and we created the ‘L’Oréal Longevity Integrative Science’, with the sole purpose of rewriting this narrative. Backed with a new science from symptom correction to root causes intervention, with new engines from derm-actives to biological activators, with innovations from anti-ageing to longevity skincare,” Dhimoy Roy, vice president of L’Oréal Research & Innovation North Asia, said.

Technology and beauty

L’Oréal Group’s ‘Wheel of Longevity for Beauty’ deciphers skin-ageing mechanisms at the cellular, molecular, and tissue levels. It leverages the ‘Longevity AI Cloud’, a sophisticated artificial intelligence system that analyses over 260 skin longevity biomarkers, exploring factors of skin vitality and youthfulness, and detecting changes invisible to the naked eye.

The technology enabled L’Oréal to develop a first-of-its-kind, full-spectrum longevity solution. This comprehensive solution integrates advanced diagnostics with high-efficacy products, powered by exclusive active ingredient combinations, to provide a complete approach to skin health and beauty.

Lan Zhenzhen, chief CA&E Officer of L’Oréal North Asia and China, noted at the initiative’s China launch event: “If we imagine ‘The Beauty of Longevity’ as a tree—scientific health is its roots, cultural values its trunk, and socio-economic vitality its leaves.”
