The hustle and bustle of Hong Kong is about to be kicked up a notch. With just days to go before the start of the 15th National Games on Nov 9, excitement is building in the city as it co-hosts China’s highest-level and largest multisport competition alongside Guangdong and Macau.
In a monumental first, the games are being held across multiple locations. The three co-hosts are united in their vision for a green, inclusive, open, and clean National Games, and are striving to organise a simple, safe and memorable event.
The 28-hectare Kai Tak Sports Park, Hong Kong’s largest multi-purpose sports and entertainment complex, is a core competition venue for the 15th National Games.

Preparations for the competitions that will be held in Hong Kong are in full swing. Various test events, including the Hong Kong Sevens that drew large crowds, have been completed successfully. These have helped to ensure all systems are running smoothly and will provide the best experience for athletes and spectators alike.

During the games, elite athletes from across China will gather in Hong Kong to compete for top honours in eight disciplines, including fencing, golf and rugby sevens.
Hong Kong will also co-host two cross-boundary events in Nov: the marathon and road cycling.
The Shenzhen Bay Port will form part of the route for the National Games cross-boundary marathon, highlighting the important role of the 15th National Games in promoting the regional integration of Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macau.

The city will also stage four competition events for the 12th National Games for Persons with Disabilities (NGD) and the 9th National Special Olympic Games (NSOG) in Dec.
Tickets for the events in Hong Kong
will be sold in the form of half-day or full-day passes, with prices starting as low as 50 yuan (S$9.12) for the National Games competitions. A flat rate of 20 yuan will apply for all NGD and NSOG events.

The excitement extends beyond sport. Hong Kong also stands out as a top tourist hotspot in Asia and is a premier hub for mega events. With its cool climate in Nov and Dec, the city offers an ideal setting for visitors to explore and enjoy.
During the National Games, eight “pop-up” routes, which cover competition venues and other distinctive landmarks, have been designed to invite visitors to explore the various arts, cultural and leisure attractions in the city.

Experience the dynamic character of Hong Kong Island by exploring key spots such as Tamar Park, the Central and Western District Promenade, and Tai Kwun. This route features tranquil green spaces with impressive harbour views, a vibrant waterfront promenade, and an iconic heritage and arts hub, offering an inspiring blend of urban relaxation, culture and sightseeing.
Tai Kwun is an arts and cultural landmark revitalised from the former Central Police Station Compound, Central Magistracy and former Victoria Prison Compound.
