Just in: Lamine Yamal once again experiencing discomfort, could miss Sevilla vs Barcelona

In a concerning development, Ferran Martinez of Mundo Deportivo reports that Barcelona winger Lamine Yamal is once again experiencing discomfort in his pubis and is a doubt for Sunday’s match against Sevilla at the Sanchez Pizjuan.

The 18-year-old sensation left the pitch limping after the UEFA Champions League match against PSG, feeling significant pain in the same area that sidelined him for around three weeks last month.

It must be remembered that Lamine missed four games in a row for Barcelona due to pubic discomfort, and only returned to action last Sunday against Real Sociedad.

Having played a few minutes to regain rhythm, the Spaniard started against PSG but was left physically strained, and he again felt pain in the previously injured area.

At present, Lamine’s participation against Sevilla remains uncertain. Barcelona are maintaining strict discretion, and it is not yet clear whether he will travel with the team on Saturday.

Even if he does, his presence on the pitch cannot be guaranteed.

Should Lamine be unable to feature against Sevilla, his availability for the upcoming Spanish national team will also be in doubt as they take on Georgia and Bulgaria later this month.

There is ongoing communication between the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) and Barcelona.

If he misses the game against Sevilla, it is considered likely that he will also withdraw from Luis de la Fuente’s squad after being named in it earlier today.
