Journalist Olena Hubanova, cameraman Yevhen Karmazin killed in Kramatorsk

Journalist of the Freedom TV channel Olena Hubanova and cameraman Yevhen Karmazin were killed in a Russian Lancet drone strike in Kramatorsk.

The head of the Donetsk Regional Military Administration, Vadym Filashkin, reported this on Telegram, according to Ukrinform.

“As a result of a strike by a Russian Lancet drone in Kramatorsk, journalist of the Freedom TV channel Olena Hubanova and cameraman Yevhen Karmazin were killed. Since the first days of Russia’s full-scale invasion, they have been covering the situation in the region, telling the truth about enemy crimes, the evacuation of civilians, and the stories of our defenders. They worked in the hottest spots of the Donetsk region, always among the first to arrive,” Filashkin wrote.

He added that this is a huge loss for the region.

“Kind, compassionate, fair, and honest. Olena and Yevhen will forever remain in our memory just like that… My sincere condolences to their families, friends, and colleagues. Russia is a terrorist state and must pay for all its crimes!” he said.

As reported by Ukrinform, according to the Institute of Mass Information, since the beginning of the Russian-Ukrainian war in 2014, 113 media workers have been killed in Ukraine.
