Mapusa: The final of the Goa Monsoon Premier Football League at the Duler Football Stadium in Mapusa will see familiar opponents taking on each other. Infact, they bear the same name: Dempo SC against Dempo Juniors.Dempo SC registered a hard fought 2-1 win against Guardian Angel SC to make it to the title clash. The winners scored through Nash Fernandes and Pradip Kullu, while Mejoice Goes pulled a goal back for Guardian Angel.In the other semifinal, Dempo Juniors put it across Sporting Clube de Goa 2-1. Prince Figuiredo opened the account for Sporting Clube but Dempo fought back with goals from Topan Minij and Jonathan Silva.Organised by the Goa Football Association (GFA) in collaboration with Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam Social Welfare Trust, the Goa Monsoon Premier Football League, an under-20 tournament, aims to put the focus back on youth, besides promoting monsoon tourism in the state through integrated cultural experiences.
