The Israel Airports Authority announced the closure and added that land crossings into Egypt and Jordan will remain open.

Iran Israel war news: Yemen-based militant group and Iranian backed Houthis have stated they will be resuming their attacks on US ships in the Red Sea after its strikes against Iran. 

“The Yemeni Armed Forces confirmed that they will target American ships and warships in the Red Sea, if the Americans are involved in an attack and aggression against Iran with the Israeli enemy,” a spokesman for the Iran-backed Houthi group in Yemen was quoted as saying by Iran International.

“It is impossible to remain silent about any American attack and aggression supporting the Israeli enemy against Iran aimed at enabling the Israeli enemy to control the entire region,” the spokesperson added further.

Iran Israel war news LIVE: In response to the US strikes on Iran, Houthi officials have warned of consequences for Washington. 

As per CNN, Houthi political bureau member Hizam al-Assad has posted saying that “Trump must bear the consequences.”

Ahead of the strikes, the Houthis has warned the US that it will attack American ships in the Red Sea if Washington joins the Israeli strikes against Iran. 

Iran Israel war news: Reactions are pouring in from Iran and Iranian officials after US struck three nuclear sites on Sunday. In the latest reaction, a representative for Khamenei has called for retaliatory attacks on the US.  

“It is now our turn to act without delay. As a first step, we must launch a missile strike on the US naval fleet in Bahrain and simultaneously close the Strait of Hormuz to American, British, German, and French ships,” said Hossein Shariatmadari in Kayhan newspaper. 

US strikes Iran news: “There will be either peace, or there will be tragedy for Iran far greater than we have witnessed over the last eight days,” Trump said during his address at the White House. 

“Remember, there are many targets left. Tonight’s was the most difficult of them all, by far, and perhaps the most legal, but if peace does not come quickly, we will go after those other targets with precision, speed, and skill,” the US president added. 

In his address to the nation, US president Donald Trump stated that the ‘Middle east bully’ Iran must make peace. Trump further warned of future attacks if Iran does not “choose peace.” 

“For 40 years, Iran has been saying, “Death to America, Death to Israel. They have been killing our people, blowing off their arms, blowing off their legs with roadside bombs. That was their specialty. We lost over a thousand people and hundreds of thousands throughout the Middle East and around the world have died as a direct result of their hate in particular, so many were killed by their general, Qasem Soleimani. I decided a long time ago that I would not let this happen. It will not continue,” said Trump.

Iran Israel war LIVE: United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has condemened the escalation from the US amid the Iran-Israel conflict. 

“I am gravely alarmed by the use of force by the United States against Iran today. This is a dangerous escalation in a region already on the edge – and a direct threat to international peace and security,” he wrote on X. 

“There is a growing risk that this conflict could rapidly get out of control – with catastrophic consequences for civilians, the region, and the world. I call on Member States to de-escalate and to uphold their obligations under the UN Charter and other rules of international law,” said Guterres. 

“There is no military solution. The only path forward is diplomacy,” he added further. 

Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu has thanked Trump in what is the first Israeli reaction to US strikes on Iran. In an official press conference, the Israeli PM  thanked Trump for the US’ decision.

“President Trump, I thank you, the people of Israel thank you. Trump’s leadership has created a pivot of history That can help lead the Middle East and beyond to a future of prosperity and peace,” said Netanyahu.

US strikes Iran news: Speaking to Fox News’ Sean Hannity, US president Donald Trump has stated that the US launched 30 Tomahawk missiles to target Iranian nuclear sites Isfahan and Natanz.

The Tomahawk missile is a long-range, subsonic cruise missile, developed by the US. The missile is primarily used by the US Navy and Royal Navy for land-attack and anti-ship missions. As per Fox News, the missiles used against Isfahan and Natanz were launched from US Navy ships.

Iran Israel conflict news: After US strikes on Iran, Israel is now on alert.  “With the approval of the Minister of Defense Israel Katz, and following the situational assessment, it was determined that as of today (Sunday), at 03:45am, (01:45am BST) immediate changes will be made to the Home Front Command instructions,” reads the official notice from the IDF. 

“As part of the changes, it was decided to shift all areas of the country from Partial and Limited Activity to Essential Activity. The instructions include: a prohibition on educational activities, gatherings, and workplaces, except for essential sectors,” the IDF added further on Telegram.

Iran Israel war news update: Iranian officials have now confirmed the attacks on the three nuclear sites. Akbar Salehi, the security deputy governor of Isfahan, said “several explosions were heard in Natanz and Isfahan, we saw attacks near the nuclear sites of Isfahan and Natanz.”

“There are no materials in these three nuclear sites that cause radiation,” IRNA news agency quoted officials as saying. Iranian officials also told state media that the materials “were evacuated” in advance.
