The Israeli military also confirmed that plans were underway to create new humanitarian corridors to ensure UN convoys could transport aid to Palestinian civilians.
The IDF recommenced aerial drops of aid into the Gaza Strip on Saturday, it announced in a statement.
The airdrops will be carried out in coordination with international aid organizations and the military, led by COGAT and the Israel Air Force.
The air drops will include seven pallets of aid containing flour, sugar, and canned food provided by international organizations.
Supporting UN efforts to deliver aid

Over 250 aid trucks were unloaded, joining hundreds of trucks waiting at the crossings to be collected by the UN and international organizations this week, the military confirmed. Additionally, approximately 600 trucks have been distributed by the UN and international organizations in coordination with the IDF.
Desalination in Gaza
Additionally, 20,000 cubic meters of water is expected to be made available to Gaza per day, allowing 900,000 residents in Gaza to have access to clean water with the support ofIsrael’s desalination technology.
The announcement follows international concern about the humanitaran conditions in the Gaza Strip, with many international organizations accusing Israel of enacting a starvation campaign – a campaign denied by the Israeli military and Israeli officials.
Following Hamas’s theft of international aid, the United States backed the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation as an alternative organization to deliver food to Palestinian civilians.
Hamas-run Palestinian authorities have claimed Palestinians were killed en mass while accessing GHF sites, a claim denied by both GHF and the IDF. Hamas has also been accused of abducting and killing aid workers working for GHF.
In hostage deal-ceasefire negotiations, Hamas has reportedly sought to return to the previous humanitarian aid arrangement.
