Huawei introduces nova 12i, nova 12s, nova 12 SE for international markets

Huawei just introduced a fresh lineup of nova midrangers for international markets – say hello to nova 12i, nova 12s, and nova 12 SE. The first phone is entirely new, the second is a rebranded nova 11 with a fancy Blue panel (sold as nova 12 Lite), and the third is literally the nova 11 SE with a new name.

Huawei nova 12i

Huawei nova 12i packs a 6.7” LCD with Full HD+ resolution and 90 Hz refresh rate. The chipset on the inside is an LTE-only Snapdragon 680 with 8 GB RAM and either 128 GB or 256 GB storage.

The huge circle on the back fits only one functional camera – the 108 MP f/1.9 snapper is accompanied by a 2 MP depth sensor and a single LED flash. The front-facing shooter has an 8 MP sensor, tucked inside a punch hole.

The nova 12i has a 5,000 mAh battery and supports 40W Huawei SuperCharge, which can fill the battery up to 62% in just 30 minutes. The sides are flat and the fingerprint scanner is embedded in the power key on the right-hand side, below the volume rocker.

Being an international phone, the nova 12i comes with EMUI 14, based on AOSP. The phone supports Bluetooth 5.0 and Wi-Fi a/b/g/n/ac. Huawei is offering the nova 12i in Green and Black, and the retail box does include the 40W adapter.

Huawei nova 12s

The Huawei nova 11 series arrived almost a year ago, and now the vanilla version of that lineup went global under a new name. Back then, the hero color was Bright Green, but since Blue is the staple of the nova 12 lineup, the nova 12s comes with the new color.

The phone is below 7 mm thick and packs a 60 MP front-facing camera. At the back are 50 MP main and 8 MP ultrawide cameras, helped by laser focus and color temperature sensor.

The nova 12s packs a Snapdragon 778G chip with 8 GB RAM and a 6.7” OLED screen with Full HD+ resolution and 120 Hz refresh rate. The phone runs EMUI 14.

Huawei nova 12 SE

The situation with the nova 12 SE is similar to the nova 12s, but Huawei did not bother to change even the hero’s color. The phone is powered by Snapdragon 680 and has a 6.67” OLED at the front and a triple 108 MP camera at the back.

The Huawei nova 12 SE was an impressive phone when it was launched as 11 SE and is still okay today with its 5,000 mAh battery with 66W charging support. The global variant comes with 8 GB RAM and either 128 GB or 256 GB storage, and once again – EMUI 14 instead of HarmonyOS.
