Hongkongers can expect a cool autumn breeze early next week, as temperatures are set to “appreciably” fall to as low as 22 degrees Celsius (71.6 Fahrenheit), the weather forecaster has said.
The Hong Kong Observatory said the mercury was expected to gradually drop from 27 degrees on Sunday to 24 degrees the next day, and then further to 22 degrees two days later amid rainy weather.
“Under the combined effect of the northeast monsoon and the low-pressure system, it will be windy with a few showers and temperatures will fall appreciably over the coast of southern China early to midweek next week,” the Observatory said on Wednesday.
Winds would also strengthen from the north on Sunday, bringing windy weather over the next couple of days alongside the temperature dips, it added.

The cool breeze will arrive after the city remains very hot for the rest of this week, with maximum temperatures reaching 33 degrees on Saturday and Sunday, according to the Observatory’s nine-day forecast.
