Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB) brought the buzz of Hong Kong to Sydney, hosting an exclusive industry event at Cruise Bar, Circular Quay, last night.
The event welcomed travel, trade and media partners for an evening of celebration and thanks for their unwavering support.
HKTB had much to celebrate on the night, with Hong Kong continuing to see consecutive growth in Australian visitor numbers with a 37 per cent and 38per cent YoY increase for the months of April and May respectively, outperforming an already impressive 32 per cent YOY increase in Q1 2025.
Additionally, air capacity to the in-demand destination is also growing with Hong Kong Airlines launching daily direct flights ex Sydney to Hong Kong from 21 June 2025 and Cathay Pacific announcing the resumption of non-stop flights between Adelaide and Hong Kong with a seasonal service from 11 November 2025, and the return of its Cairns seasonal service from 9 December 2025.
Inspired by Hong Kong’s own iconic skyline, the event offered panoramic views of Vivid giving attendees a taste of Hong Kong’s nightly multimedia light show, A Symphony of Lights.
“Tonight is not just a celebration of Hong Kong and all it has to offer but also a huge, heartfelt thank you to our incredible industry partners for their ongoing support and promotion of Hong Kong,” HKTB Director for Australia, New Zealand & South Pacific Karen Macmillan, said of the event.
“We look forward to continuing to work with all our partners to keep this momentum going and to getting even more Australians to Hong Kong.”
