Hong Kong police have arrested seven individuals including a 13-year-old boy, linked to an online group known for filming controversial public stunts, on suspicion of criminal intimidation after three victims reported receiving razor blades in the post.
The force said on Friday that the suspects, aged between 13 and 36, had been held on suspicion of criminal intimidation, acts outraging public decency and disorderly conduct in a public place.
Between October 15 and 22, police said it received multiple reports from three victims who claimed that letters of intimidation containing razor blades had been sent to their homes, public organisations, schools and churches.
The letters were allegedly mailed by members of “Is Time to Win”, said Senior Inspector Lai King-yiu of the Hong Kong Island Regional Crime Unit.
“Is Time To Win”, a controversial group known for filming and posting attention-seeking behaviour in public, has attracted widespread criticism online.
Lai said the three victims were active social media content creators who had previously collaborated with members of the group.
“Investigations revealed that they had previously had grievances with individuals from the group over trivial matters,” he said.
