Farewell to Ferrari for these celebrities

If you think of Ferrari, what’s the first thing that comes to your mind? Apart from its characteristic red color, this brand represents prestige, elegance and exclusivity. So, to reinforce these ideas, the brand is coming up with strict rules on who can own one of its most sought-after vehicles, and celebrities are in the spotlight. Names like Justin Bierber, Nicolas Cage, Floyd Mayweather, 50 Cent, Deadmau5, Lindsay Lohan, Paris Hilton, Kim Kardashian and Chris Harris are in the list of celebrities who can no longer buy a new Ferrari.

The Italian brand is always trying to incorporate new things to their vehicles, but always maintaining its signature features. That’s why Ferrari doesn’t want to risk all its effort for some celebrities. Let’s see more in detail what’s happening with celebrities.

Ferrari’s blacklist

The company is excluding some people from buying its new vehicles, it doesn’t matter how popular or wealthy you are because Ferrari will decide who can buy them depending on specific requirements. Those who are already in the blacklist are internationally well known celebrities like Justin Bieber, Floyd Mayweather and Kim Kardashian among many others.

This restriction is done by many other companies in the luxury products industry to have a control over their reputation. Ferrari is one of these, but it’s even stricter.

The reasons why the company would ban you

Ferrari’s aim is to have exclusive vehicles with impeccable reputation, to achieve this the company has imposed some rules for those willing to buy these vehicles. These are the reasons why you could miss the opportunity of being a Ferrari owner:

  • Customize the car in an eye-catching way or contrary to the original design, no change of the painting, shape or adding any extravagant element.
  • Selling the Ferrari right after buying it, since this might seem the vehicle has lost value.
  • Selling it cheaper will be negative for the exclusiveness and prestige of the vehicle.
  • Abandon the vehicle or leave it in bad conditions.
  • Publicly criticise Ferrari or any of its models.
  • Driving in a dangerous way, provoking accidents or being associated with irresponsible behavior when driving.

Vetoed celebrities

As we mentioned before, the company has a blacklist which is already full of celebrity names who don’t respect the brand’s rules we previously explained. So, let’s get into the gossip and see who are the most popular celebrities in this list and why they are vetoed:

  • Justin Bieber: in 2014 he provoked an accident trying to avoid paparazzis and then he modified his Ferrari by changing the painting to a bright blue color. Also, he auctioned this vehicle in 2017 which was felt disrespectful for the brand.
  • 50 Cent: this American rapper publicly criticised his Ferrari 488 because of a discharged battery. The company thought this was unnecessary and negative for the brand.
  • Deadmau5: the Canadian DJ also modified his Ferrari 458 Spider with a videogames theme and sold it on the internet.
  • Nicolas Cage: the Hollywood actor had to sell his Ferrari Enzo – one of the most exclusive and valuable models of the brand – much cheaper than it cost.
  • Lindsay Lohan: her veto has nothing to do with vehicles, but with her legal record and drug consumption. This is something the Italian brand won’t accept to be related to.

The list goes on, but we should also name people like Paris Hilton, Kim Kardashian, Floyd Mayweather and Chris Harris, who have behaved in a way the company considers unacceptable for their brand. So, if you want to buy a Ferrari you should be careful with what you do from now on. Do you think these rules are too much?
