Best Midfielder: Bukayo Saka vs Crystal Palace (H) – 6.0 predicted points

Arsenal have all the momentum in the Premier League right now, taking 13 of a possible 15 points from their last five Premier League games. Bukayo Saka now sits as one of the best midfield options in the game.

He showcased his routes to points with a seven-point return in the 1-0 win away at Fulham, despite not registering an attacking return, coming up with a clean sheet point, defensive contribution points for the first time in this campaign and two bonus points.

Having converted from the penalty spot in Gameweek 7, he is now the Gunners attacker with the best potential in the game. He has scored two goals this season, which have both come at the Emirates. Opponents Crystal Palace conceded three goals last time out.

Midfield Gem: Amad Diallo vs Brighton (H) – 5.5 predicted points

Winger Amad Diallo has been central to this improved form, with an assist in that game. He now has two assists this season. Manchester United have won three of their last four games in the league, with their only loss coming in Gameweek 7 when Amad failed to feature.

He has the potential for both goals and assists, with some encouraging underlying numbers. He has produced 11 shots on goal and created 10 chances for his teammates. The Red Devils are expected to have the edge over Brighton at Old Trafford.

Best Forward: Erling Haaland vs Aston Villa (A) – 7.5 predicted points

Erling Haaland retains his status as the captain favourite for FPL Gameweek 9, as his high-quality start to the season continues since the international break. He scored both goals in the 2-0 win against Everton last weekend.

That takes him to goals in six consecutive league games, registering 12 goal involvements from eight appearances this season: 11 goals and one assist. His underlying numbers are equally compelling, where he sits top for shots and big chances among all players.

Manchester City have plenty of momentum, winning four of their last five games. They’ve scored more goals (17) than any other team, with Haaland central to that form. Aston Villa are also in form and could provide a stiff test at Villa Park.

Forward Gem: Jean-Philippe Mateta vs Arsenal (A) – 5.1 predicted points

Crystal Palace have had a sound start to the season, with just one defeat blotting their record. They showed plenty of fight to grab a draw against Bournemouth last time out, and had the opportunity to finish off that game late on.

It was a dazzling performance from Jean-Philippe Mateta to score a hat-trick, taking him to five goals for the campaign. He’s been threatening an explosive performance all campaign, second only to Erling Haaland for shots (28) and big chances (15).

Mateta has the routes to points, with his two previous goals in this campaign coming on the road. Arsenal will be challenging to break down at the Emirates, though, having kept five clean sheets this season. They’ve only conceded five big chances on their goal.
