Did Kim Nam-Joo Fall Into Cha Eun-Woo’s Trap?


Wonderful World episode 9 aired on MBC on Friday, March 29, 2024. Starring Cha Eun-Woo as Kwon Seon-Yul and Kim Nam-Joo as Eun Soo-Hyun, the K-drama revolves around Seon-Yul seeking revenge on Soo-Hyun.

In episode 8, Soo-Hyun found out that Seon-Yul was the son of Kwon Ji-Won, the man she killed after he ran over her toddler son and didn’t get punished. Seon-Yul planned to ruin Soo-Hyun’s happiness to avenge the death of his father. Therefore, he exposed her husband’s secret of cheating on her with his sister Yu-Ri.

Episode 9 begins with Yu-Ri and Soo-Hyun’s relationship. Nam-Joo’s character brings Yu-Ri home when she was young and was beaten up by his mother. Since that day, they have become sisters. Returning to the present, Soo-Hyun learns that Yu-Ri is the other woman in the photo with whom his husband slept. Meanwhile, Seon-Yul seems satisfied as he thinks Soo-Hyun has fallen into his trap.

Wonderful World episode 9 spoilers: Cha Eun-Woo celebrates as Kim Nam-Joo’s life is in shambles

In Wonderful World episode 9, Kim Nam-Joo’s Soo-Hyun confronts her sister Yu-Ri (Lim Se-Mi). The latter wants to seek her forgiveness, but Soo-Hyun says she cannot forgive her and asks her to wait for her answer. Next, she confronts her husband, Soo-Ho (Kim Kang-Woo), and regrets getting back together with him. Although he asks for forgiveness, Soo-Hyun walks out, hinting at the end of their relationship.

Seeing Soo-Hyun’s life in shambles, Cha Eun-Woo’s Seon-Yul celebrates his victory with his friends. The next morning, Soo-Hyun visits Yu-Ri’s biological mother, who abused Yu-Ri and threatened her with an inappropriate photo of her and Soo-Ho the other day. Kim Nam-Joo’s character asks her the name of the person who sent the photo. Although Yu-Ri’s mother doesn’t name names, Soo-Hyun figures out who he is.

She gets in her car and calls Seon-Yul, asking him to meet her. He calls her at a secluded place and tries to scare her, saying, “If you die here, no one could find out.” To his surprise, she didn’t seem to budge after the situation he had put her in. Soo-Hyun gives a befitting reply, “Dying is easy. It’s staying alive that’s hard.” She adds, “If anyone wants to shake me, go ahead. They can kill me, but they can’t kill my heart.” After she leaves, Seon-Yul decides to up his game.

Meanwhile, Soo-Ho learns everything about Seon-Yul and his intentions. He confronts Seon-Yul with rage but soon calms down and begs Seon-Yul to direct his anger at him, not his wife. On the other hand, Soo-Ho also plans to take down Kim-Joon, the main culprit in the drama. Subsequently, Seon-Yul too irks Kim-Joon when he gives an envelope to the latter that makes him angry.

Wonderful World episode 9 ending: Did Cha Eun-Woo run over Kim Nam-Joo?

Towards the Wonderful World episode 9 ending, Soo-Hyun (Kim Nam-Joo) decides to fight for her mother and not let Seon-Yul (Cha Eun-Woo) succeed in his plan. Thus, she clears the air with Yu-Ri and tells her that she will be cordial to her sister for the sake of her mother.

When Seon-Yul realizes that Soo-Hyun is not weak, he plans to target the person she loves the most— her mother. The episode shows Seon-Yul picking up Soo-Hyun’s mother’s phone. The next scene shows her rushing to a hospital where her mother is admitted. 

Ultimately, Soo-Hyun seems to have had enough of Seon-Yul’s tricks. The final scene is quite thrilling when Soo-Hyun comes in front of Seon-Yul’s car. He initially hits the break and locks eyes with her. She doesn’t move an inch even after he accelerates towards her. It appears he wants to run over her. Viewers will find out whether he does it or not in the next episode. 

Wonderful World episode 10 will air on Saturday, March 30, 2024, at 9:50 p.m. KST on MBC. It also streams on Disney Plus.
