According to Ronaldo’s representative, the 40-year-old superstar chose Hong Kong as the location for his latest museum due to his massive fan base in China.

The museum will open at the K11 Musea shopping mall in Tsim Sha Tsui on July 7, with Ronaldo himself expected to attend, although the exact date of his visit has not been specified.

Luis Parafita, one of Ronaldo’s representatives, explained that Hong Kong was a “natural” choice for the museum’s location, the South China Morning Post reported.

“This is the door to Asia. We have a huge fan base here,” he said. “The connection that Cristiano already has with China and Asia is huge.”

Parafita also mentioned that there had been requests “from all over the world” to host the museum, particularly following a three-month trial run of a smaller exhibit in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, two years ago.

While Ronaldo’s time on the pitch remains his priority, Parafita confirmed the football legend would appear in Hong Kong but did not disclose a specific date for his visit.

The CR7 Life Museum, located at K11 Musea, spans 1,114.8 square meters and is expected to attract more than two million visitors over the next year. Parafita noted that the maximum capacity of the museum is 500 people per hour, so the visitor experience will be comfortable.

This is the second instalment of the CR7 Museum, after the first one opened in 2013 in Ronaldo’s birthplace, Funchal, Portugal. Unlike its Portuguese precursor, the Hong Kong museum is set to run for only a year, Hong Kong Free Press reported.
