Conor Coady transfer news: Wrexham make bid for Leicester City defender after Christian Eriksen approach | Football News

Wrexham have made a £2m bid for Leicester City centre-back Conor Coady.

It’s understood the 32-year-old would be open to exploring a move to the newly-promoted Championship club, if a deal can be agreed.

Sky Sports News revealed last month that Rangers had made an approach for the England international.

Coady has one year left on his Leicester contract.

Wrexham, co-owned by Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds, are back in the second tier for the first time since 1982 this season and have already made six permanent signings as they continue their push from non-League to the Premier League.

Josh Windass, Danny Ward, George Thomason, Liberato Cacace, Ryan Hardie and Lewis O’Brien are the confirmed signings so far, while talks have also been held with former Manchester United midfielder Christian Eriksen and Sheffield United striker Kieffer Moore.

Wrexham make Eriksen approach

The Championship side have held talks with Denmark international Eriksen, who is a free agent after leaving Manchester United this summer.

The 33-year-old is said to still prefer a move to a top-flight club, but has been impressed by the pitch and ambition made by Wrexham.

Eriksen made 23 Premier League appearances last season for United, scoring one goal and recording two assists.
