Citroen reached third place in Türkiye’s electric vehicle market in July, with the E-C3 and E-C3 Aircross models serving as the driving force behind its performance.

According to a company statement, Citroen continues to accelerate its growth momentum with renewed models. The French automaker achieved a 7.9% market share in July with 1,362 electric vehicle sales, securing third position in Türkiye’s electric vehicle segment.

Strong performance in B-segment electric vehicles

The brand’s total electric vehicle sales reached 3,831 units over the past two months, with the new C3 and C3 Aircross models leading this upward performance.

The new Citroen E-C3 became the segment leader in July with 1,050 sales and an 87% market share. Since its market launch at the end of May, the new E-C3 has achieved 1,894 sales in three month, capturing a significant 63% share in its segment.

The new E-C3 Aircross, also launched during the same period, rose to fourth place in its segment with a 7% market share. Considering the seven-month period, the vehicle continued its upward trajectory with 1,222 sales.

The E-C4 and E-C4 X, important players in the C-segment, also contributed significantly to the brand’s rise in this market with 1,904 sales in the seven-month period.

Citroen Brand Director cutlines market strategy

“We plan to achieve approximately an 8.1% share of the total market with the electric versions of C3, C3 Aircross, C4 and C4 X,” said Citroen Brand Director Bora Duran on Monday.

“While our electric vehicle sales are already accelerating with these models, our brand is also continuing very dominantly on the commercial side, especially with Berlingo,” he added.

Duran noted that the brand reached the podium in third place in the electric vehicle market in July.

“E-C3 and E-C3 Aircross took on the locomotive role in our growth in the electric vehicle market. Both vehicles were accepted very quickly in the market. Of course, we must also give credit to E-C4 and E-C4 X, they supported us very well,” he said.

Citroen’s year-end sales target in Türkiye

Duran reminded that their year-end target for the B-segment is 15,000 units with the impact of the new E-C3 and C3 Aircross by stating: “We foresee that this will contribute approximately 1.3-1.4 to our market share. As we previously announced, our goal is to complete the year with approximately 9,500 C3 Aircross sales and approximately 5,500 E-C3 sales.”

The brand director emphasized that these two models will be a very important driving force for their year-end target of 71,000 record sales.

“They have already proven this with sales figures,” Duran said.

Commercial vehicle success, new model launch

Duran indicated they will continue to be “aggressive” in the commercial vehicle segment in the second half of the year. He stressed that alongside their success in electric and commercial vehicles, they are currently achieving significant volumes in the fleet market with C4 and especially C4 X models.

The brand director highlighted that they launched the new Ami model in August as part of their new model offensive.

“Of course, the current C5 Aircross also brings us approximately 600-700 units monthly. Our momentum will accelerate with the new C5 Aircross that we plan to launch in the last quarter of the year,” Duran concluded.
